Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of wind on two distinct structures—one constructed of steel and the other of concrete—when subjected to varying wind angles. We utilized ANSYS Workbench to evaluate the structural response of these buildings during wind exposure at angles of 0°, 45°, and 90°. We employed modal analysis to determine the natural frequencies and mode shapes of both structures, followed by static and harmonic response evaluations to assess their deflection, stress levels, and safety under wind pressure. The objective is to evaluate the response of the two materials to wind originating from various directions. The findings indicate that the steel structure exhibits superior wind resistance, characterized by enhanced flexibility and safety, whereas the concrete structure is more rigid but has a greater propensity for failure at specific wind angles.
